Ebb Tide Rose

If you are looking to add some really deep purple to your garden, the Ebb Tide rose is one of the deepest!

Ebb Tide Rose

Some history….

This is a fairly new flower, first bred by Carruth in 2006. Its a combination of Blue Nile, Sweet Charlotte, and Sweet Chariot breeds.

Beauty

As I've said this rose has some extremely deep purple to it! It has huge blooms with a great crisp fragrance. Some call it clove-like or spicy...in any case it has a nice scent!

Its a smaller Floribunda, only getting up to about 2-3 feet or so. Even so, it still makes for nice cut flowers. It looks great in a garden with some smaller, miniature roses underneath it. Or, plant a light colored flower underneath to emphasize the purple even more.

Gardening

The Ebb Tide rose is rated for zones 5 and up. However, many veterans of this rose have reported that the deep purples are helped by colder weather. Hot spells seem to pull back the bloom a little bit.

Its been bred to be nice and disease resistant as well.
