Dark Purple Roses

Dark purple roses are one of the most mysterious and interesting shades around. Its definitely a great way to stir up conversation. In the right light, or lack of it, they can look almost black.

Much like regular purple, this color can signify mystery or enchantment. However, it can also have a meaning of a

a deep connection or extreme intimacy, beyond just the passion of red or friendship of yellow.

Here are some of the more popular breeds:

Ebb Tide: A floribunda known for its rich deep colors. It has a great scent as well, almost clovelike, with huge blooms.

Dark Purple Roses

Midnight Blue: Another hybrid that is very popular. Some call this a mauve type color but it depends on when in the blooming cycle it is. Recently bloomed flowers have a deep, full color. It also has a spicy scent similar to the ebb tide.

Wild Blue Yonder: Another repeat blooming grandiflora. This one tends to mix some shades or mauve, violet, and lavender. When first blooming though, it is a deeper color. The blooms are large sized as well and it has a striking fragrance.
