Not such a great garden rose
by: AJ

Black Bacarra is really a rose for the cut flower market, in my opinion. It has little fragrance, and it doesn't seem to get as dark unless it has ideal growing conditions.

While I do like the rose, I feel there are far better dark red roses that you could grow in your own garden.

One of my favorites is Blackberry Nip. It's not so easy to get, but if you can find it, then it's definitely worthwhile planting it.

Featured Rose - "Banksiae"
yellow banksiae rose
Absolutely stunning, when in full bloom. A mass of 1000s of pale yellow flowers, each one only 1-2 inches across. A light fragrance, as well as the almost total lack of thorns, make this rose a great addition to any garden.
