A lovely red climber - Guinee

Guinee is a great red climber. It will grow almost anywhere, and has great fragrance.

Red roses are definitely my favorites, climbers especially. This will train over an arbor or pergola very easily.

The other thing I like about this red rose, is the way it's bursting with scent. It also takes very well from cuttings, as most of the older rose types do. Modern roses are so highly bred, they often fail when you try to grow them on their own roots.

This was bred back in 1938, so has been around for a long time, yet isn't seen that often. That's a shame, as it really is worth having in any garden.
