Old Master, a pink rose

old master rose

Old master reminds me a little of a pink version of "facepaint"....a nice semi-double flower with a white center. Not a great deal of fragrance, but nice enough to look at all the same. Like many of the McGredy roses, it seems to have little scent - but a nice specimen to have. This will only grow to about waist height, so you don't need to allow a lot of room for it.

  • Class: Floribunda.
  • Availability: Commercially available
  • Origin: Bred (1974) by Samual Darragh McGredy IV.
  • Bloom: Red blend , mottled blooms. Mild fragrance. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
  • Habit: Height of 32" to 36" (80 to 90 cm).
  • Growing: Zone 6 and higher.
  • Parentage: Seed: Maxi x Evelyn Fison, Pollen: Orange Sweetheart x Fruhlingsmorgen
